Drawing Tips and Tricks

Hello in the cyber-land, My name is Ernest and in this blog post I will illustrate and give you insights on achieving a realistic look for a drawing. I started drawing when I came to America, as a young immigrant had nowhere to start but to pick up a pencil and paper and only one thing; Passion, that drove me to where I am. Just like any other curious person out there, I trolled the internet for information, I mean valuable information that people spend thousands of dollars to obtain. I looked for tips and tricks to utilize in my drawings but non did I find. Nevertheless, I ended up enrolling in an on-line drawing class to achieve the results I wanted.

In this blog post, I will share the information I learned from the class and pass it on, because I believe information is power and it can impact many in different ways. Tip; One thing I learned about drawing is that don't take it too serious or anxious to get results, the reason I say that is because  you might get frustrated and give up. Drawing Step by Step  is simply to follow simple rules that artist or people tend to omit when drawing. Plan the picture whether it is a method you are going to apply to get the structure ( outline ) perfectly done.

MATERIALS TO USE

There are so many materials out there to use, but if you don't know the right materials then it is as same as  wasting time and assets. Professional Artist know their material, that is the reason why they get such results in first place. As a beginner you need to know the right material to use or else you might get frustrated as the result you dread to achieve seem to long gone.
When it comes to drawing tinny things like hair or texture make sure you have all the pencils, eraser, divider, right paper, again I recommend buying Strathmore Vellum drawing paper. This is a very good drawing paper, it has small bristols that makes it unique and gives a wonderful texture when it comes to contours or drawing clothes. This paper has two different sides, one side is smooth and the other side has texture feel so you have the option of which side to use, Here is the link to there website Pro-Art 457759 Strathmore Bristol Smooth Paper Pad 11 in. x 14 in. -20 (Google Affiliate Ad)  you could get it or use any other paper of your choice. I also recommend to check out several tutorials online before you start your project, they are plenty of tutorials for beginners and advanced . Drawing is fun, so you must always remember to loosen up a little, don't panic and the most important is to enjoy the drawing, you be surprised how much you get drawn to your Art. Below is a picture I draw.

Other materials I used on this project was a Kneaded eraser

Kneaded eraser also know as putty rubber is very soft rubber used by artists, especially pencil artist to achieve great effects on there drawings. Pencil artists or graphite artists take advantage of its softness to mode it into any shape they want to erase. This is a very helpful tool when it comes to drawing. I also used H2, HB and HB4 pencils. When drawing drawing using H2, HB and HB4 pencils you have to keep in mind that each pencil has different value, H2 pencils are good for outlining, getting the shape of an object you want to draw. It is very light in value, it produces subtle shading quality on the paper as it is very easy to go back and forth with an eraser to adjust the strokes or the outlining. HB pencils are normally used to shade first quote also know as first layer, it can be used to differentiate flat surface and contours, dark and lights. The values of pencils go on and on depending on how dark you want your drawing to be.
